Jeanette has been involved in her own firebrand style of activism for a variety of causes for the last 15 years. As a union railroader for the last 12 years, she was a founding member and longtime co-chair for Railroad Workers United. She has been an outspoken advocate for railroad safety, worker rights, coalition-building, and creative activism. She prevailed in a lawsuit against her employer in Federal Court in 2014 for their retaliation against her for reporting an on-the-job injury.
Oh, and she once walked across America with her super-hero dog, Sherpa.
Now desperately poor and disabled from another on-the-job injury, she’s back in school, hoping to turn the field of Sociology into a mighty tool for change. Research is hawt!
